How is Insight Community Feedback Being Used?
The input collected from the Edmonton Insight Community is used by program managers in a range of ways. Some surveys are part of formal consultation programs and the results will be presented to City Council for consideration in policy or program decisions. Other input is used directly by program managers to shape civic services. Still other input is gathered for the general knowledge of City staff and other citizens, to gauge initial opinions about issues in our community.
Here are some descriptions on how recent feedback Is being used by project managers:
"We used the information to assist in finalizing the taxi fares and to formulate our policies. It kept us mindful of the public's view of what we, as regulators, are doing."
- Garry Dziwenka, Sustainable Development "We are using the insight community input - especially the comments - to prepare our curriculum and design our delivery for Governance Academy/ City Builders Pilot that will be taking place on November 14 - 15, 2014. We found the comments a very rich source of information."
- Mavis Nathoo, Office of the City Clerk"We've used the Insight Community to get feedback on a wide range of Transportation Services topics to help define and refine programs. For example, the questions we asked on the Household Travel Survey helped us refine how we will conduct the pilot. We also use this information to understand how the public feels about some topics such as bike infrastructure and education programs. It helps us understand what information is needed and how we need to provide it." - Michelle Chalifoux, Transportation Planning
