Landscaping Questions
The results from the Insight Community landscaping survey were very informative. The results assisted planners in learning more about community values and desire to preserve mature trees. The feedback was used to inform amendments to the Zoning Bylaw, which included:
- establishing minimum tree and shrub planting requirements in low-density residential zones that lacked tree and shrub requirements, and - developing an incentive program to encourage the preservation of mature trees.
On June 27, 2016, City Council unanimously approved changes to landscaping requirements and introduced incentives for preserving mature vegetation.
